Fuji.<br \/>\nBud do you know there is \u201cthe No. 1 mountain in the world\u201d in Japan?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/mt-takao-2019-2.jpg\" alt=\"Attractions of Mt. Takao, Tokyo - The No.1 mountain in the world\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-317\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That is Mt. Takao (Takaosan).<\/p>\n<p>Mt. Takao locates around 1 hour from central Tokyo.<br \/>\nIt is only 599 meters high, which is only one sixth of Mt. Fuji. What is No. 1 in the world of Mt. Takao?<br \/>\nIt\u2019s \u201cThe number of climbers\u201d. Mt. Takao has the largest number of climbers in the world.<br \/>\nMt. Fuji has 0.3 millions of climbers annually, whereas it is said Mt. Takao has 2.6 million.<br \/>\nMt. Takao is accessible easily from city part and the altitude is low enough to hike easily. At the same time, there lives more than 1,300 of plants, 100 of wild birds, and 500 of insects, and you can enjoy rich nature.<br \/>\nMichelin Guide, which is worldly known as restaurant evaluation, but there is Michelin Green Guide as well. Mt Takao received 3 stars from that, evaluated as \u201cMust Go\u201d mountain.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/images\/mt-takao-2019-1.jpg\" alt=\"Attractions of Mt. Takao, Tokyo - The No.1 mountain in the world\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-316\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You see how attractive Mt Takao is.<\/p>\n<p>You can climb Mt. Takao from Keio Takaosanguchi Station, and there are many trails.<br \/>\nOn Trail 1 to 6, which are called \u201cnature study trails\u201d, there are guide plates of plants and living creatures. In addition, there is Inariyama Trail, which is more difficult than others. Each trail takes for around 1 hour 40 to 2 hours.<br \/>\nUntil the middle of Trail 1, there is a cable car, if you take it you can climb to the top in an hour.<br \/>\nIn the middle of Mt. Takao, there is a temple called Yakuoin. You can join meditation, or takigyo, a meditation under waterfall there.<br \/>\nMt. Takao has a restaurant, \u201cBeer Mount\u201d, open only between June and October as well.<br \/>\nYou will also enjoy \u201cTenguyaki\u201d, which is a sweets like a tiyaki, but a shape of Tengu. Tengu is a guardian god of Mt. Takao.<\/p>\n<p>You can enjoy pure hiking, but experience Japanese culture there as well. That is the attraction of Mt. Takao.<br \/>\nTokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School has an event, \u201cHiking to Mt.
