Hong, who started studying at Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School from January 2018, as soon as she graduated from high school, entered Faculty of Fashion Science, Bunka Gakuen University. We asked her how to get admitted by the institute she had wanted and study in Japan.
What did you prepare to enter Bunka Gakuen University?
I had been working hard on JLPT and the classes as well as preparing for essays and interviews for the university admission in the meantime. Also, I was passionate about participating events related to fashion or subscribing Japanese magazines.
Do you think what the key was to pass the admission of Bunka Gakuen University?
I believe taking importance on the attendance rate of Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School was the key. Also, I tried hard to solidify my faith in fashion. That could be as another key.
What brings you to studying at Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School in Japan?
I decided to study at Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School because they provide Japanese language classes based on systematic curriculum to improve their students’ Japanese proficiency.
What was the most interesting class at Tokyo Galaxy Japanese Language School?
The Accelerated Learning Class and the preparation for interview in the optional subjects were very helpful.
Who do you thank the most among the teachers?
I think I am going to thank Katou sensei the most, who was in charge of the university entrance. She was willing to search information on admission for me and spared time to train me with the interview every single day. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
What was the hardest part to prepare for an entrance examination and how did you handle it?
My communication skill was not enough. I was worried because it is one of the most important skill for interview So, I tried to make Japanese friends to interact with them, having an in-depth conversation and practice Japanese to develop my conversational skills.
Do you think studying in Japan was a good choice for you? Why?
I think I have been broadened my mind by studying in Japan. I had chance to interact with people from different countries and to experience Japanese culture.
Why did you choose Bunka Gakuen University amongst Japanese universities?
They teach you fashion from the basic. Also, their curriculum designed to teach both practical technique and theory, and that makes me to be able to create my own fasion. That is why I wanted to enter the university.
If you give advice to those who want to study at Japanese universities;
You should practice Japanese as hard as you can before coming to Japan. Then, that will allow you to learn a wide range of Japanese language.
Tell us your next goals.
I want to launch a brand blended my faith in fashion as a fashion designer. I will do my best to launch my own fashion brand, applying the knowledge that I have learned at school and my experience to it.
